Recent research highlights yoga’s unique benefits for bone health. I take what I’ve learned about this from my on-going research and practice, and teach a basic-level class for anyone with bone health concerns seeking to move safely through appropriate guided yoga postures.
The classes are organized in 7-week sessions and are more focused on longer holds than my typical yoga instruction. Each class includes creative sequencing of postures targeted for bone health in the hips and spine, along with some breath practices and techniques for quieting the mind. I will include back strengtheners, balance postures, side bends, and hip openers. Postures are adapted to the ability and range of movement of the participants.
The class makes use of a chair, strap and blocks, all available at the studio — please bring your own yoga mat!
NOTE: Newcomers to yoga are always welcome!

Dates: Tuesday mornings, 9:30 – 10:30 am

Cost: $105 for 7-week series; $20 drop-in
