Strong & Steady Yoga Series!

Having a Strong and Steady Yoga practice builds strength, energy, and resilience! You will reap physical benefits from focused movements that fortify you in body, mind and spirit.

Strong and Steady Yoga is about experiencing yoga as a grounding physical practice for standing strong and steady even in midst of change and uncertainty. 

The mat-based class (Saturdays 9:15 – 10:30 am) is a deeply energizing, gentle and joyful practice aligning classic postures and breath for anyone wanting to move with more fluidity and awareness.

The chair-to-mat classes (Fridays 9 – 10:00 am and 10:30 – 11:30 am) are great for anyone seeking safe stretches, release in the joints, and strength in the bones in heart-opening community.

These gentle classes are an intelligent, energizing and joyful practice aligning movement and breath – a perfect lead-in for the weekend! Throughout, we build strength and steadiness through movement that:

  • tones the body
  • frees up joints, breath and energy
  • creates passages to release stuck emotions and obsessive thoughts
  • brings more clarity to the mind
  • opens the heart to engage courageously with the world around us!

The Details

Strong & Steady Mat-Based Class

This class is on-going and open for drop-in attendance. It is organized into multi-week sessions to reduce cost for regular participants. 

DATES:  Jan 11 – Feb 29, 2020 (8 weeks); March 7 – April 25, 2020 (8 weeks); May 2 – June 20, 2020 (8 weeks)

Time:    Saturdays, 9:30 – 10:45 am

Place:    Healing Arts Studio: 15 W. Highland Ave, 2nd floor, Chestnut Hill, Philadelphia 19118 (door to the right of Valley Green Bank)

Cost:     $125 for the 8-week session ($20 drop-in)

NOTE: Community meditation held at 8:15 am on the first Saturday of the month.

Strong & Steady Chair-to-Mat Classes

This class is on-going and open for drop-in attendance. It is organized into multi-week sessions to reduce cost for regular participants.

DATES:  Jan 10 – Feb 28, 2020 (8 weeks); March 6 – April 24, 2020 (8 weeks); May 1 – June 19, 2020 (8 weeks)

Time:     NEW CLASS TIMES!

EARLY BIRD CLASS! Fridays, 9:00 – 10:00 am

LATE BIRD CLASS! 10:30 – 11:30 am

Note:      Please wear comfortable clothes and come with a water bottle, yoga mat and props (if you have them). Some mats, blocks and straps are on hand at the studio.
